******************************IMPORTANT UPDATE RE. WEX 2020********************************
Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, we have regretfully had to cancel our planned work experience this November. This letter has been emailed to all parents/carers confirming the situation.
All current Year 10 students (Class of 2021) are expected to attend a Work Experience placement in November 2020. See below for details of dates, paperwork, and other useful information.
Dates of Work Experience
The Work Experience week is w/c 23.11.2020. Students will be in school on Monday 23rd November for a World of Work day to ensure they are fully prepared before going on placement. Placements therefore need to run from Tuesday 24th November - Friday 27th November 2020.
All forms must be returned to SBL Academy by the end of this academic year please. Any received late may be subject to a £20 H&S checking fee.
Work Experience paperwork
All students will be issued with a green WEX form, letter and timeline before February half term. These can be found here:
WEX Form to be filled in (This is the "green" form mentioned).
All placements MUST be approved. All placements must be recorded and signed by employer, parent/ carer and student on the green WEX form. They will then be entered onto the system and await approval. Most placements will need to be visited by the H&S company to ensure it is safe for the students to attend. This is why the deadlines are so important and must be adhered to please.

How to search for placements
You can download our help guide by CLICKING HERE.
Please note that if you add a placement to Selections, this just saves it for you.
It does NOT contact the employer or tell them you are interested in the placement. This needs to be done by the student or parent/carer
Companies on the site may not now be in a position to offer a placement. It just means they have done at some point.
